ROLE OF VICE MINISTER

The vice minister should be one who cooperates with the Minister, and clearly communicates the thoughts and ideas of the minister to the council and fraternity.
The vice minister assist and support the minister in performing her role and be prepared to assume complete responsibility in the fraternity when the minister is absent or sick.

Attend meetings, functions in the local, regional, or national level that the minister could not attend.

From time to time he/she should lead the members of the fraternity in discussion as well as in prayer which demands much preparation. Such an approach will ease the burden of the minister and add variety to the meeting.
The vice minister should be faithful in attending all meetings of the council and fraternity regularly. These meetings are the heartbeat and mind of the fraternity life.
The vice minister could very well serve as a chairperson or play an active role in major activities as planned by the council. Our SFO rule challenges Seculars to take an active part in 4 areas: peace and justice, family, work and environment. The vice minister could play an important role in any of the area as member or chairperson.
It is important that the vice minister understand the structure of the SFO, in its alignment (international, national, regional, local) and the relationship that exists between them. He/she should be aware of the operations of all levels and their relationship with one another. The more the vice minister recognizes what is occurring throughout the entire Order, the more he/she will become a vibrant force in the fraternity.
