BEING FRANCISCAN

Prayers, Prose, Poems, and Pictures Guard your Heart and Mind
“Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests knows to God.   THEN the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.  Keep on doing what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me. Then the God of peace will be with
you.”    (Philippians 4:6-7, 9)

Reflection:
No matter what comes our way each day, we can keep our peace.  Out of the secret place within our hearts flows the Spirit of life; the holy place set apart for the Spirit to dwell.  We protect and guard that place by what we allow in and don’t allow in.  All the worries, offenses, anxieties or anger that come our way each day do not have to enter in; we don’t have to allow it within.  We can live in peace without the unnecessary.   We have God’s Peace that reigns within our secret place.   Jesus and St. Francis has shown us the way to Peace. We have learned, we have received and we have heard.  Think on these things.

THE MOST SACRED HEART OF JESUS

June 3  Submitted by Genie Dutton

"But God proves His love for us in that while
we were still sinners Christ died for us."
-Romans 5:8

O God of my life, your love is better than life!    I long for the kind of intimacy with you that awakens my soul to the truth of my vocational call to be a sacred presence in the world.  May it come to pass.
