Duties of the Formation Director

ROLE OF FORMATION DIRECTOR
 
 
  1. The formation director is to form members of the laity enlivened by the holy spirit to follow Christ continually in today’s world according to the pattern and Rule of St. Francis.
  2. The formation director is responsible in recruiting formators for the orientation, inquiry and candidacy formation classes.
  3. He/she also teaches the formation classes making sure that the candidates pledge themselves to live the gospel in the manner of St. Francis.
  4. He/she finds materials and resources that will enhance his teaching and the learning of the candidates of the life of St. Francis, his rule and the gospel of life.
  5. He/she must be one who is abreast of the various changes in the Church and the Franciscan Order; should at least have a summary knowledge of the documents of Vatican II and the   four letters of the four general ministers of the Franciscan family Vocation and Mission of the Franciscan Lay Faithful in the church and in the World (August 18,9189)
  6. The formation director keeps the records of the candidates, their attendance in class and keeps a file of each candidate. When interview comes these records are shared to the council who interview  the candidates before they are professed.
